Educating others on the importance of Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a significant part of our mission.

Through Mount Rushmore Society support, rangers gave 81 school programs in western South Dakota last year. We also provided stipends to four National Park Service interns so that they could learn more about working with this agency.

We raised more than $325,000 to construct the Youth Exploration Area at the park and provide programming. Rangers give talks on a wide-range of topics at the shelter, including natural resources, park history and the Native American culture.
