The Mount Rushmore Society’s sold-out Spirit of America Gala brought sponsors, donors, and new friends together for a memorable evening at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Lively conversation, meaningful connections, and inspiring performances made the celebration a success.
Emcee Sarah Carlson, from the South Dakota Arts Council, guided guests through an engaging program. Featured speaker Joe Sohm, America’s Photo Historian, captivated the audience with his “Visions of America” presentation. With music as the backdrop, his photography and storytelling invited guests to reflect on the landscapes, people, and ideals that shape our nation.
Special musical guest Kenny Putnam performed the national anthem, with Sequoia Crosswhite and the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard also contributing to the evening’s program. Their participation added meaning to a celebration beneath one of America’s most recognized landmarks.
Board Chair Eileen Rossow, CEO Diana Nielsen, and Mount Rushmore Director of Interpretation Blaine Kortemeyer shared program highlights, connecting the celebration to the Society’s partnership with the National Park Service and its ongoing support for Mount Rushmore.
