COVID-19 Update
The COVID-19 virus continues to impact personal lives, professional lives and travel plans.
The National Park Service announced today that Mount Rushmore National Memorial will be closing the Information Center by 5 pm Friday. With that, our Mount Rushmore Bookstore in the Information Center will close as well. Xanterra will close the Carver’s Café and the Gift Shop by noon Friday. Fees at the parking facility will not be charged. Although visitor services will be limited at the park, the park grounds will remain open. As this is a fluid situation, see the park website for further clarification.
Beginning today, we are closing the Mount Rushmore Memories Airport Store at Rapid City Regional Airport. We are heeding precautions for the health and well-being of all of our employees and community.
Obviously, this pandemic affects our employees. However, our board of directors and management are committed to providing them paychecks during this uncertain time–Something that we are blessed beyond measure to provide, thanks to supporters like you!
As we mentioned previously, this week we implemented a plan that will allow us to continue our work while protecting the health and safety of our team.
This plan allows staff to work remotely as needed and create a schedule for maintaining basic office functions to ensure continuation of services.
You can call into our office (605-341-8883) at any time and leave a message for the appropriate person. In addition, we all have access to email (see staff list) and will respond as soon as we are able.
In addition, we’ll continue accepting donations and processing online retail orders.
If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to contact me directly on my cell – 605-381-3279.
THANK YOU for your continued support and your steadfast commitment to Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
